Black boots are authorized, if they have the following features;

Black boots are always authorized for wear within jails and while on court duty. Black boots may also be authorized for wear in urban areas.
Boots for extreme cold weather wear or Arctic conditions wear are exempt from this.
Security firearms:
. Handguns must be a minimum of .38 special or .380 ACP, unless it is bottlenecked.
. Rifles must generate a minimum of 340 foot pounds (the equivalent of a 5.7x28mm round).
Roles:
Sheriff's office: enforcement arm of their county's or independent city's legal system. Usually responsible for administering the jail within their jurisdiction.
Marshal's office: primarily responsible for enforcing civil manners, but still possess full law enforcement powers.
Constable: elected general law enforcement officers. Not entitled to taxpayer's money. Fully independent of other agencies.
